It is the purpose of the Hamtramck Police Department to preserve the public peace and order, apprehend violators and offenders, and to protect the citizenry and property under the laws of the State, and ordinances of the City of Hamtramck, in a firm and fair professional manner.
Interested in working for the City of Hamtramck and becoming a police officer, but haven’t attended the police academy yet? If you work for the City of Hamtramck in another capacity for a period of time, you may be eligible for a City-paid sponsorship to attend the police academy and become a police officer.
The City of Hamtramck contracts with the Michigan Humane Society for all its animal needs. If you have lost a pet and the Police Department has picked it up, first, check with the Michigan Humane Society at its Detroit, Westland and Rochester Hills facilities.
If you have not located your pet here, don’t stop looking. Also check with all local animal care facilities, veterinary offices, social media, ask your neighbors, and keep checking.
